From Maastricht
With own transport:Get onto the A2/N2 in Maastricht and go south, direction Eijsden-Luik. After a series of traffic lights take the turning to Cadier & Keer/Vaals. This is the N278. Follow this road for a while and about 2km past Margraten take a right turn, direction Reijmerstok/Noorbeek/Slenaken. At the second major cross-roads turn left direction Slenaken. Pass through Slenaken, up the hill, direction Epen. After about 2km you will arrive in the village of Heijenrath. Drive through village and after about 300 meters turn right (at Hotel Lenerts), direction Teuven (Belgium).On the right hand side you will find Auberge de Smockelaer.
With public transport: (There is a bus stop 50 meters from Auberge De Smockelaer)Take a train to the central station in Maastricht; Outside the station take bus No.57 to Slenaken/Epen. Get off at the bus stop "Weg naar Teuven"
